I know the Amtrak cross country train stops in Newton, closest Amtrak to Wichita/Hutch. I was there 20 years ago and there was NOTHING there but I heard theres an outlet strip mall there now with a Carters outlet.

Newton has grown tremdously in the last few years. It's a town I wouldn't mind moving to if my wife didn't already have her own house here in Wichita! Newton seems to be progressive and has more acreage per house than in Wichita but I could well be mistaken. New businesses have moved in and it's no longer just a town where the Amtrak stops at.
