A little creative talking i presume.

The bogus claim that Obamacare has boosted the number of uninsured

The FACTS;

Brunner noted that the number and percentage of uninsured has been relatively stable in Kansas over the past five years, except for a jump in 2010 that stemmed from the Great Recession. Here are the figures, drawn from the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey.

2008: 341,000 14.2 percent

2009: 350,000 14.4 percent

2010: 381,000 15.5 percent

2011: 353,000 14.3 percent

2012: 357,000 14.5 percent

I read the article and didn't see any facts that proved what was being said one way or the other. And, when it comes to bogus claims, we all know who has the biggest nose in the US! There is a 90 day grace period before the premiums must be paid so some are floating on that. You can pretty much expect that in KS, they won't keep the premiums up because they won't be able to afford them. Our congressman has been out and about actually talking with people and his office has been taking calls so I'm guessing he has a pretty good feel for what is going on. He has my continuing support.

KS is trying to protect its population of seniors also: Kansas Moves to Protect Seniors from Obamacare Cuts to Medicare and they have a LOT of them! I have fingers crossed that Sebelius will not return to KS because we simply cannot afford to have that happen.

I don't believe any of them. "They" all have an agenda and the numbers can be twisted to make any point you want.

Nobody I know has lost their coverage.
Nobody I know has obamacare.
Nobody in their right mind should buy insurance through the .gov site with the security issues it has.

Some people are never going to come around. Every truth or fact will be weighed against Their acceptance of the notion that the affordable care act is bad. It reminds me of the way people thought about science in the 17th and 18th century. Every reality is going to be weighed against an unprovable notion.

I consider a half-truth to be a lie and they all seem to do that. Try following their Facebook pages and just see what parts of the stories they leave out. Caught Brownback doing it on an issue that I know a great deal about and was able to post some information to clarify what was really happening. The rest of the story............

My wife and I got insurance through www.healthcare.gov. It was very easy to get insurance through their website and it's nice to be able to compare coventry and blue cross on the same page. It's a little complicated, but due to my wifes immigration status she just got approved to buy health insurance in the U.S. I had been under my parents insurance, so neither of us would have been in the uninsured category. I don't know if Obamacare decreased the number of uninsured, I think since it really just got implemented we will have to wait and see for a couple years to see the results. Maybe after people start getting fined they will realize it's better just to get insurance. With the federal subsidies the cheapest insurance is very cheap. I really think it's the lower middle class and middle class that will be benefited from Obamacare, not the poor and definitely not those who don't qualify for subsidies. All in all, I think Obamacare will be good for Kansas and for the nation.
