Default relocating from Kansas

We will be moving to Dallas area this summer. Lived in Kansas all my life. Really liked Flower Mound. Question is....what are the costs to live there? Utilities? Cable? any other hidden costs to own a home? We are trying to stay below $1500. for a house payment. Property tax seems high! We have 3 small kids so it is VERY important to live somewhere SAFE and with good schools. We have 1 vehicle and pay $70 a month for full coverage Ins. how much more is it in Tx? Just trying to figure out if it is possible for a family of 5 to live on a single income of $70,000

Lived in KS and in Flower Mound, TX. Now relocated to AZ by work required.

Westchester Estates at the corner of FM 1171 and Churchill Dr. has Flower Mound Elem. School site located in it on Churchill Dr. It's an older neighborhood, one story homes mostly.

We loved it there, and are so grateful our kids got to walk to school grades K-5.

If it's your first home to buy in TX, ask your realtor about the "Homestead Tax Credit" too! Good place to raise young family - might make that under $1500 pymt too - fingers crossed.
