If you were objective, I might take you seriously. But since you have some kind of vendetta against Brownback and take every possible opportunity to badmouth him, I just roll my eyes.

And a link to a biased site doesn't help much, either. What would we expect them to say?

From the OP link:

Quote:
A policy that he promised would create an economic juggernaut produced a sinkhole. A projected $27 million surplus in fiscal 2015 is all that remains of $700 million two years ago, according to budget analysts. Job growth didn’t materialize, Moody’s Investors Service cut the state’s debt rating, former Republican Party chairwoman Rochelle Chronister called Brownback’s plan “ruinous” and “crazy” and 104 members of the party yesterday endorsed his Democratic opponent.
When will you supply side/trickle down religious fanatics learn that your economic theory is pure garbage.

LOL, a biased site? Bloomberg is more conservative than most. I watch what is happening in Kansas from far away, and it will be interesting to see if Brownback is voted in again.

why don't you all go tell it to the washington, colorado, and texas forums? what all these articles fail to mention is that we still have hundreds of millions of dollars of the surplus, enough to miss projections at last months pace for the whole year. the economy is booming, our long term unemployed are finding work. people will start moving here, needing new housing. i work with people who moved here from la and from chicago.(different people) granite stater will probably laugh at that but its the truth. ya'll just saw the high points of your kansas is gonna fail argument last week, you need to be ready to say the success is really all obama and the dems, because success is coming.

He's done some okay things, I like the theory of getting rid of the income tax, but he's barely even lowered the income tax and look what it's done... I do worry about the budget in the coming years.

The main problem with the article is that of the Republicans who endorsed him, only 1 is still holding an office, and most of them are retired. Moderate Republicans in Kansas are known for getting behind moderate Democrats, which I would say Paul Davis is one. That being said, I don't expect many, if any elected Republican representatives to get behind Davis running for Governor.

I'm a moderate independent, I own a business in Lawrence, but live in Topeka, I haven't decided who I will vote for yet, but I won't lie that I'm considering Davis, Brownback is a little too far right for me personally. I've never voted Democrat before, so this could be a first... in pretty much any other state I would be a Republican, but I'm in Kansas, so yeah... independent I go.

The GOP is going to try to paint Davis as super liberal, basically an Obama running Kansas, but he really is fairly moderate. He's more "conservative" then 8 elected Republican representatives/Senators and nearly all the other Democrats, except 1. I was trying to find the website where I got the statistics and voting records, but was unable to find it.

I have voted all over the board, but the more I learn the more I typically vote Republican or at least conservative. I haven't even given who I will vote for much thought so far. Guess it's time to start thinking about it.

I'd rather have a DINO democrat like Davis than Brownback.

I'm typically an independent voter.

I dislike Brownback for 2 key reasons.

1) He seems to take his queues more from his big backers than from Kansans.

2) He seems to want to use the office of gov. as a launching pad.

Both of those lead me to believe that he is more about promoting himself than acting in the best interests of the state and it's people.

Actually, it's proven that low tax states and low tax countries attract businesses. I mean dear lord, have you never heard of the phrase Tax Haven? Are you unaware of the corporate machinations like the Double Irish? Do you know why Bermuda and the Caymans are banking and insurance mecca's? Gee, must be their low taxes and low regulations....waaaaaiiiit that's impossible....companies don't care about that.

The question of course is what is the correct level of taxation for the state and obviously cutting too far makes the state less attractive if the schools suck and so forth.

P.S. Let me end by directing you to google Start Up NY....darn religious fantatics and their tax free zones to boost the economy.....bwah hah hah hah.....open your eyes.
