Question Medicine Lodge, KS

We would like to relocate from Oregon to rural Kansas. Are considering Medicine Lodge. Can anyone give me any feedback? Our children are grown, so it is just the 2 of us. We are church-goers, currently attending a Pesbyterian church. I need info re availability of houses to rent, initially until we know if we want to really settle there. Also, I travel for my job so need info re closest airport for commuter flights.

Any help/info you can give us is appreciated. Thanks much -- jbee

Lots of old houses to pick from. You are in the middle of no where. If you or your husband require urgent care (ie. heart attack, trauma, stroke)
you have a LOW chance of survival. Airport? HAHAHA

Idaho will become famous soon enoughIdaho will become famous soon enough
At least 60 min. drive to Wichita Kansas for major international airport.
About 20-30 min. drive to Pratt, Kansas for commuter/cropdusters.
Pratt also has the closest major medical facility.
Wichita is best bet for specialists, and has the VA hospital.

Default medicine lodge, kansas

After living there for 16 years I wouldn't wish it on my dog. The only thing that I regret is that I managed to make 2 good friend and 2 beutiful children there. I did have some times that I wouldn't trade for anything but do really wish that I would have chosen to land on an island with just one male so that I could still have my boys. I wouldn't wish MEDICINE LODGE ON MY WORST ENEMIES. Betty
