Default Has there been an increase in crime in Lawrence?

According to citi data, it appears that there was a big jump in crime. Any particular reasons why?

KU basketball team undefeated, football team just wins Orange bowl, these events caused wide spread panic celebration in the streets by fans who torched police cars and destroy area businesses! Oh wait!! That only occurs in places like Detroit, Chicago and New York, my bad!!

Lawrence is a college town so yes there will be crime there. Maybe because the sports teams are doing exceptionally well. KU IS the drug capital of Kansas so they might be some drug deals gone bad or something of that sort. I live about an hour from there and don't hear much about what goes down out there.
