In today's Marvin comic strip, Jenny and Jeff are discussing a summer vacation in Kansas, where Jenny's aunt and uncle have a farm.

Jeff had previously suggested a summer vacation in Florida with his mother, but Jenny objects to the hot air (her mother-in-law's hot air, that is).

Jeff agrees to visit Jenny's aunt and uncle in Kansas. The Miller family is going to vacation in Kansas.

I visited Hays in 2012. I would like to return. Currently, my schedule is tied up in an attempt to learn Spanish through an adult education class.

One of the worst times to visit Kansas is the summer...but since they are cartoons they shouldn't sweat too badly.

They never said where in Kansas Jenny's aunt and uncle lived. If they lived in western Kansas, since Jeff wanted to vacation in Florida with his mother, they would have had the choice between hot and dry, or hot and humid.

I have been in Orlando, Florida twice in mid June. Even at 7:00 AM, it is uncomfortably warm and humid. Hays, Kansas had a heat wave and drought when I was there in June 2012. Although it got up to over 100 F, the early mornings were beautiful. I walked through the park behind the motel without getting my feet wet.
