Could a move to Wichita be realistically made for around $2,000? I'm an RN and would have a job waiting and ready to go for when I arrive. I'll be looking to rent a 1 bedroom aparatment.

Easily. $2000 in Wichita is alot of money. And if you are an RN there is LOTS of competition among employers there and they will probably be willing to pay your moving expenses if you agree to work for them for a period of time (6 mos to a year)

2000 Is plenty to get you started here. As far as being an RN you will want to get a hold of a company here to hire you accept you and at least cover your Kansas Certification needed to continue your job. This will be the Key to your Question as I do Not believe (not being in medicine, but Family Is) I don't Know exacts of the costs for Getting Kansas License but you need to check this out FIRST. You will need a job when you get here. But once you get here i Know RN's range from 18 -30 $ph based on experience, place of employment, job title etc. A 1 bedroom Apartment ranges from 150 to 900 a month roughly, average is about 425. 900 with deposit leaves 1100 to turn everything on. You will even Have enough to fill your Apartment up with all the food you will need to get you to the next check
.Hope This helps. |

thanks for your responses, sounds like Wichita is definately doable and inexpensive. License is already taken care of and paid, only $75 in KS, not bad

I moved down here for about 4,000. That included getting set up in an apartment, furnishing a living room and a bedroom from the ground up (rocking out with new towels and silverware and all). I didn't really have a budget, but 2,000 will set you up just fine here.
