Default Need Hotel Info for Manhattan/Junction City

My son is returning to Ft. Riley from Iraq in April. We are planning to be there for his homecoming but are a bit concerned about hotels in the area. My son said to stay in Manhattan so we have been researching the area hotels. None of them seem to get consistently good reviews on any of the sites we've looked on. We've booked the Super 8 but would like anyone's opinion who is familiar with the area.

Thanks!

There's not a lot of nice hotels in Manhattan. Its a college town so the hotels are for parents spending the weekend and an odd party here and there. Most parents I knew stayed at the Holiday Inn on Anderson because its across from K-State. You might try the Fairfield Inn on Colorado or the Best Western on Poyntz. The motels are kind of a crap shoot.

It's been a good 8 yrs since I've been back to Manhattan, but I believe there is a Holidome on the hwy going into Manhattan from the west. Would be less "traffic" getting to JC. The hotels aren't bad, but nothing great.

Nice thing about the Holidome is that it's out of the "busy" area and easy to get to JC, mall, downtown. Closer to airport also.

Glad to here he's comming home. Be sure to tell him we say "THANK YOU" and we are proud of him. God bless them all.

I can do some calling for you if you'd like. I'll set you up how you want and do my best to get a great discount, I was in hotel/rest mgmt there.

Email me and I'd be glad to help, lonefarm@wbsnet.org, subject hotel in Manhattan.

Use me if you can/want.
