We have plenty of Gyms. YMCA's,Genesis,Women only gyms.
There are alot of Payday Loan places lol but im sure thats all over the Country.
One thing i dislike about Wichita is the number of houses that should be torn down.
And a nice house nextdoor to a shack or ugly trailer lol (South Wichita).
Im probably going to offend someone but the amount of low-class folks..
This town has(Think Pawnee & Broadway Wal-mart shopper).

That is offensive. Wichita is a blue collar worker town. Always has been. People usually know that before they move there. It is a beer and burger/ scotch and sirloin town- not a wine and cheese town.

Just because it's a public place doesn't mean it's supposed to be open 24-7. The hours are for your safety. You are more likely to be a victim of a crime at night than you are in broad daylight. I realize it could happen in broad daylight but it just isn't nearly as likely and there are likely to be more people around. The officials responsible for the park would probably not like to be in the defendent's chair in court because they allowed something like this to happen on their watch. It's easier to just put up a sign with operating hours to discourage citizens from putting themselves at a higher risk of incident.
A good example of this: The local Army Corps of Engineers operated lake in my home town has picnic, volleyball, tennis, etc areas. At 9:00pm they turn out the lights. They do not want to be responsible for people who want to be out there that late.

I moved from Wichita to Orangeburg, SC and would move back in a heartbeat. There are no bike trails here and the few parks they have I wouldn't dream of going into myself after work hours. /Wichita may not be California, but it isn't all bad. Try moving into the deep South and you will surely have a culture shock.

Depends on where you move. I live in Atlanta and it is nice except for the hellish traffic. Charlotte is nice too. Wichita is also nice but in different ways and it is cheaper than Atlanta is.

Well said, KevK. I don't understand why people come to Wichita expecting something along the lines of a major metropolitan city, or a coastal city with a whole different climate and culture, and then complain when they don't get it here. Wichita's history is rich with tales of the old west, the cattle trade, pioneers, and cowboys. This isn't Miami Beach or NYC. Don't people realize this when they come here? If you want sunshine and beaches and Broadway and 24 hr clubs and nightlife, go to New York or LA or Miami.
