That list is silly. Housing in the upper Midwest is much less expensive. Cities in North and South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming all have lower prices.

Homes in Arkansas are about the same in value as Wichita and taxes much cheaper. But wages are less by about 30% also. Wichita is not perfect by a long shot, but it is not a bad place to live either. I just do not know how things will shake out this winter wiht 12k workers laid off in the air industry and it treading water. Things are starting to show signs of stress in Wichita. Unemployment is lower than in the harder hit areas but who knows if this will hold. Next spring will tell a lot.
