Pittsburg is a College town and is home to Pittsurg State University.
Fort Scott is a smaller town that is near highway 69. Pittsburg is closer to Joplin, MO which offers residents the conveniences of that city. Fort Scott, on the other hand, has lost jobs over the past several years. The cost of housing in both towns is quite cheap. I think Kansas property taxes in general are somewhere in the middle in terms of national rankings. The larger cities/towns in the suburban Kansas City area tend to have higher property taxes. |
