Pittsburg has Chicken Annie's, and Chicken Mary's. There is no reason to want for great food there. After 3 years of living there you may not want to leave.
I went to school there and grew up 35 miles West in Parsons.

My son attends college in Pittsburg. Be wary of where you settle. My son lives in a residential area of Pittsburg and has to put up with people who burn their garbage in the evenings, let their chickens and rooster roam the neighborhood, and folks who have vicious dogs tearing at their chains to come after you every time you go in your backyard.

What year did you graduate Willy-Bill?

Oh, and I think you'll be pleasantly suprised by pittsburg. It is considerably smaller then st. louis but has enough to offer if you take the time to look and ask around. Especially if you consider Pittsburg/Joplin one area as they somewhat compliment each other. One poster mentioned some of the "fine dining" as chili's and applebee's, which are fine but there are a lot of locally owned restaraunts that are much better. Napoli's and Josie's Italian, Gaucho's Brazilian BBQ, Jim's Steakhouse and of course Chicken Annie's and Mary's to name a few. There are a lot of nationalities and cultures represented due to the Mining history in the area.
