Housewives of Orange County comes to mind.......................
(slaps self in the face for voicing that)
I enjoyed the posts. I have no worries about crime, I just stay out of situations where I'm forced to shoot.
Ok, here goes a priority list:
Move self, girlfriend, son & family away from Yuma to Wichita, Manhattan or Salina areas;
Get a job as a Director of Nursing or Regional Nurse Consultant in one of these areas;
Be closer to family in Nebraska;
Create a welding/fabrication/machining shop for my son & I. (I am a machinist also)
Retire after winning the Powerball. (opps gotta buy a ticket, now don't I???)
Enjoy doing what I do best, which is life.
Been too close to death too many times. Not worried about crime (combat veteran here also), not willing to sacrifice my priorities due some pecker-head with an attitude. Kansas has a Castle Doctrine Law on the books.
Anyway, our main reason to return to the Midwest is peace of mind. We grew up there, Arizona was nice for a while, now it's time to get closer to the final resting place.

Well, thinking of additional education & becoming a Nursing Home Administrator. Seems the best advice I get is get hired at a place that offers the AIT program & apply. Seems logical.

Have you considered teaching? Most of the vo-tech programs offer practical nursing and/or an associate in nursing degree and it seems quite often that they are looking for someone to teach in certain areas. Also, the short term classes for nursing assistants pop up everywhere. May not be of interest to you, but could be a "fill in" while you got established in the area, make some contacts? I am only guessing.
