I want to hear all the good things about living in Manhattan Kansas. What are the things you like the best about living there? What are the town/college relations like? And what about summers after all the college kids go home?
Thanks in advance for all your opinions.

My cousin goes to KSU and likes the town fine. Life seems to revolve around the college. It's supposedly quite boring in the summer, although I had fun fishing at Milford and Geary Co. lakes when I was there last summer. I'm sure the Kansans on this board can give you a much better description.

Its been 20 years since I graduated KState but at that time, Manhattan was at its best in Summer; laid back, lots of BBQs with friends, afternoons at Tuttle Creek swimming.; Hibachi Hut-the best gumbo outside the South; Nights drinking the spicy bloody marys at Rockabelly. Oh now I'm sentimental! I hear that its gotten busier in the summer- now they're building a Target and a Best Buy in town. Thats a big deal in a small town.

Manhattan is the greatest place in the world, and Ill agree with the above poster that the summer is the best time to be there (not that it's bad when the students are there)

There is just a LOT less congestion. I graduated in 2003 and even since then it has changed TONS. Great place to live though.

As for the above poster, the Best Buy and Target have already been built. Target is on the north side, and Best Buy is by the mall.

The mall area through the Super Walmart can get a little chaotic at times during the day.

It's the cleanest town around. Lots of friendly people and plenty of hotties. lol Plenty of college kids willing to work for cheap so it's not the best paying city around.
