Apt for retired couple (Kansas City, Leavenworth: estate, homes, rent)

Hi, I am trying to help my parents relocate to an apartment in Kansas City. They want to be on the Northern part (somewhat close to KCI area). They are not into technology- hence why I am doing research for them : ) SO, any 2 bedroom apartments that can be recommended in a safe neighborhood? BTW, my dad is a HUGE Nascar fan- would probably not mind living near the track - as long as the neighborhood was safe. They would just really prefer a quieter complex, an adult only complex, or open to a smaller privately owned apartment. I feel like I am rambling.... any advice?

What about Leavenworth? Is it a nice community? Safe? Affordable apartments?

Don't know about the apt prices, but it is a nice small town. Don't live on the north side, that is where most of the crime is. They have converted some older buildings in town into "Loft" apts. Some of them are much nicer than apts and since a lot of the owners are military, the leases can be quite long. Also check with the chamber of commerce - they are very helpful.
