Default moving to Kensington

Hello there. My husband and I are hoping to move to Kensington very soon to be near my sister Sheila Dues. We currently live in Ladson,SC,very near Charleston. We are hoping to find a small town safe for our 5 year old son. I am having trouble finding houses for sale in Kensington. My sister and her husband Randy tell me that there are many houses for sale that aren't posted online. My husband is getting ready to retire from the Air Force and I am a school teacher. I hope to also find jobs! Please let me know of any sites that I may look at for housing in Kensington and also jobs! Blessings,Charlotte Bradford

Kensington does not have any Chamber or community organization to contact. They are however, involved in the Smith County Eco Devo. Contact Lacy at this link.

DiscoverSmithCenter.com

I taught school there for 2 years way back when. And, it hasnt gotten any bigger. The Smith County Eco Devo will put you onto someone who has the info you seek. I have a lot of family there and it is close to my home.

You should also check with West Smith County Schools there for housing information. Jobs will either be at the School, Smith Center, or Phillipsburg, most likely.

Sometimes, these Nebraska newspapers will list jobs for the Northern Kansas area, and also the Nebraska towns along the border:
Hastings Tribune.com
Kearney Hub - Home - Home
You might also check into Kirwin schools, Kirwin is located southwest of Kensington. Also check this out for fun:
NTV - KHGI/KWNB/WSWS-CA - Where your news comes first. - Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings, Lincoln | Road Less Traveled
Kensington is #136, Kirwin #105, Smith Center #79 and I don't believe they have gotten to Phillipsburg yet, they have also have done some of the other smaller towns in the area. Welcome to north central Kansas, I live about 50 miles north of the border in south central Nebraska, so welcome to the region also.

Default Kensington

There are some nice homes there, and are priced reasonably. You guys just need to go to Kensington and look around. You shouldn't have a hard time findig a job, we need teachers in the area. Welcome to the area!!!!!!!! I live in Plainville, but have been around K-town all my life. Good Luck! Mike

Howdy Neighbor!

I grew up by Natoma, and taught school in Kensington.

Small world.

How is the economy up that way? Are there any good jobs outside of teaching? I suppose that the oil field is booming now?
