My favorites are at opposite ends of the state. I like both Lawrence and Hays overall. I generally prefer College towns.

If I had to live anywhere besides where I am it would be Pratt, which wasn't one of the choices, so my next best would be Hutchinson. I've always liked Hutch, it's too big for me, but not so bad that I couldn't stand it if I had to. It's got great shopping and nice restruants too.

Lawrence is best then Overland Park (Johnson County) then Salina then Wichita then Emporia then Kansas City then Topeka. Don't know much about western Kansas.

Lenexa - great city gov't, but OP is terrific area to live in as well. I would move back to Lenexa in a heart beat.

What? No Leavenworth?
I lived there and Lawrence. I think I left my heart in Larryville. Stupid lack of high-paying jobs and my unwillingness to commute!

Hays and Liberal are probably the cleanest most prosperous cities in the state. Lawrence is a cesspool of Liberal mania. Quantrill and Anderson tried to clean it up one time but like cockroaches they sprang back from the ashes.

Are people in Liberal politically liberal?

There might be a couple who were exiled from Lawrence.

Hmm ... not sure anyone should give accolades to those two dubious figures of history.
