Some folks would be well-advised to live elsewhere as the city is determined to fight the dangerous state law allowing concealed weapons to be carried amongst the public.

Also hate speech is carefully monitored. Keep your religious feelings out of public areas and within the walls of a church please.
What in the world are you saying? That political correctness is something to be cherished?

Live elsewhere because the city is not going to allow concealed weapons? Is that what you're saying?

Hate speech is carefully monitored? By whom? Since when can one not talk openly about religion?

Being Politically Correct is now considered a virtue?
What a joke.

I wrote a review of Frank's book awhile back. He didn't come off too Joco, which was a good job on his part because he was speaking of the entire state. But since I became a political atheist, I no longer care about his subject matter (Kansas political mentalities) except as a disinterested observer of sociology.

The Flint Hills is one of those places that really surprises people. They didn't think they were going to enjoy it that much, they still can't put their fingers on quite what made it special...and yet they remember it. I especially like to see buildings constructed from limestone blocks.

I moved here from Chicago 8 years ago and people in Kansas shouldn't worry about what others think so much. Kansas is generally better than most of the residents realize and a lot of people from outside Kansas have such distorted views of the place it is almost sad.
Why, thank you very very much!!! Seriously. I grew up there thinking, like most residents, that it was a sucky place. 13 years later, I return to realize that it ranks very well when compared with other states and cities. In fact, I would move back happily.

The Flint Hills needs MUCH more exposure. It is beautiful country. I have talked to people from Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas who had no idea what "Flint Hills" were, which is very sad.

Liberal: Lawrence, professors at WSU in Wichita, parts of Kansas City (although not the city as a whole).
