Default Real estate taxes in KS

I was wondering if someone could give me a general idea of what the real estate taxes are like out in Kansas.

Here we have "personal property" tax. this amount depends on where you live, which county. This tax is charged on cars, boats, homes... all personal property. On real estate you also have your mill levy, etc. I live in a home appraised at $125,000 and pay about $6,000 a year in taxes and levies. I am in Johnson County.

We also have a state and city tax. Some of these taxes can be over 8%

Default KS taxes

I've lived in KS for 25 years. I just sold my home with 15 acres..was only listed for 4 months. I paid 64000 5 years ago for it and sold for 90,000. It was insured for 125,000 and my taxes were around 500 per year on the place. Of course vehicles are another tax expense when you buy and or renew tags each year...but I have bought a new vehicle every other year for 8 years and can tell you that INSURANCE is not bad at all in my area. I drive an 06 350 Z and pay around 500 a year. Gas of course is high everywhere, but KS is always much higher than MO on EVERYTHING. That's why I'm looking for a home and land in MO and when I find it will move there..just across the line. Good Luck!!
