Yes, there are bars over here where there are drunks walking out of, but that's on any side of town. And when they are walking around, at least they aren't driving drunk and killing people like the West side. And they don't even bother you. And yes the mission is in North Topeka, but people from all sides of town come to hard times and have to go there. I'm seriously offended that you would say that the only side of town that people that have made a life for themselves is the West and Southwest side of town. My entire family lives in North Topeka and they are all well off and definitely NOT white trash. And if you think that moving to a smaller town is going to get you accepted as a person of color, you got another thing coming. I have lived in small towns and they are far more racist than the people in the city. They like to "stick to their own". So I wish you luck with that one. You really need to think about what you're typing and saying if you don't know what you're talking about. You can't live by here say.

I'm very sorry I offend you

I didn't mean to. It was a forum post I read somewhere about Topeka and their citizens, and I must have misinterpeted about North Topekans and Topekans, in general, being white trash. No, it wasn't posts here, it was somewhere online. That's the last time I'm going to believe anything I read on online forums. But, the posters must hate this town so much. I don't hate this town, I'm just frustrated I wasted my time and money to better myself to get an Associates degree in Computer Networking and A+ certificate but I can't find a single Tech job. But, I'm not going to give up since someone is hiring for an IT job in the Topeka area

But I love the town because of the medium size, I know my way around town faster than Dallas, and it's home of Washburn. I was born and raised in Topeka 25 years ago, ready to start a new career in IT which is Information Technology, buy a house, and start up a family before I turn 30. For people who is well off, that is where I read to buy a house, on the west side near Fairlawn or Gage but I don't get it. I will probably buy a house in the North Topeka or Highland Park areas which is another quiet part of town and I lived in Highland Park when I was a kid, and the area was quiet.
As for smaller towns, my mom was born and raised in one, she put up with racism when she was a kid but haven't put up with any when she moved to Topeka in the late 1970s. She told me there's not a lot of opportunities for IT professionals in smaller towns than towns like this one where you have a chance for a Tech job like working for the hospital, the state, city, or phone company. I also have family who live in North Topeka and they never experienced racial tension. In fact, I never experienced racial tenision in this town, either, but don't get me wrong, there's still racism in Topeka and this
world, but NOT all Topekans and people in this world are racist buffoons. My family told me North Topeka is very peaceful and they do not hear any loud music, emergency vehicle sirens, or the police helicopter which I hear every night. Well, you do hear sirens, but it's not like Hi Crest, Central Topeka, or East Topeka areas where it's a daily occurence. There are also Black, Hispanic, and Asian people who live in North Topeka and probably like it. No, I'm not talking about the people that are down on their luck and live at the mission, I do feel sorry for them, but people who bought houses in North
Topeka.
