Daughter moving from rural comm. to go to JCCC, safe rental?
Nervous mom looking for for safe apartment area for daughter going off to college, trying to find something in Johnson county for tuition purposes. But, I would love to find something outside of KC or less populated area, any suggestions would be wonderful, she does have a room mate

With the high cost of fuel I would not look too far outside of the College and Pflumm area. From what I understand many highways in JOCO are currently under construction so traffic might be worse for commuting. The nearest smaller town to JCCC would be De Soto which is in western Johnson County.

Hi! my name is Natalya and Im actually also attending Jccc this year and i live in Olathe KS. This is actually a great place to live on your own...i still live with my parents haha but not for long! its generaly very safe and everything is right here from food to entertainment to libraries and gyms. There are also plenty of apartments around here. I hope this helps =)

JCCC is located way out in the Johnson County suburbs. It is not in Kansas City. The area all around JCCC (Overland Park) is generally thought to be a very safe neighborhood. And there are lots of apartment complexes in the immediate area. Just have your daughter use common sense and she should be fine.

there are some apts less than 4 blks away from jccc. they appear to be "nicer" than some but this whole area is safe. if you're interested I'll get the name of them
