You are right. The further east you go in Kansas, the collective IQ of the place climbs (as do the number of teeth and the number of homes not on wheels).

If you want liberal, your only real choice is Lawrence, but that is a small college town.
urban Kansas City, MO is really the only real "liberal" place in or near Kansas.
KCK is a joke and Johnson County is just a typical suburb.

Within the american context a conservative is someone who worships themself thru the vehicle of worshiping their country.
This is the "American context" according to whom?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What scientists call "civic religion".
How, specifically speaking, does "civic religion" define the concept of being an American conservative? Who are these "scientists" and who are they affiliated with?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Liberals tend to look at things more on a case by case basis
while conservatives tend to view things in a "my country right or wrong" way.
LOL! Where did you come up with this nonsense? Some might say that liberals view things in the context of emotion rather than logic. It appears your not a big fan of this country. That's fine and that's your choice, but understand that outside of a few outposts around this world, most people love their country and more than likely are passionate about it's defense. Unless of course, they are suicidal and perhaps mentally ill.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a international perspective, american liberals are seen as center-right
while american conservatives are seen as reactionary right.[/quote]
And the hits keep coming!LOL! The left seen as "center-right", ha, good stuff ! Reactionary right? Well, the so-called "reactionary right" often views "international opinion" as pacifistic and weak minded. It is because of this failed ideology that Europe will one day become fully Islamic. Perhaps if they had a little more patriotism of their own, they'd stop trying to *****-foot with the enemy and harden up a bit. Instead, they've chosen to remain a dying culture that nurtures a bitter and biting sarcasm that American leftists find cool, intellectual, and cutting edge!
Bravo!!!

But the good news is that the town is now majority minority- about 50% Mexican and 4% black. So hopefully, one the Mexicans get their citizenship and voting rights, the town of Liberal will become more liberal!

I've always wondered why the people of Liberal didn't vote to change the name of that town. The very WORD must make them choke to say it.

Johnson County was the only county in KS to go for Obama in last year's election. I nearly fell out of my chair when I read that.
