Thinking of opening a business in Leavenworth, Kansas (Kansas City, Lansing: buy, live in)

I know little about the city or inhabitants of Leavenworth, Kansas and especially the surrounding areas,although everyone has been very nice each time I have visited. My business is specific to mostly to females (but men love it when the ladies buy it). I have learned the population of the city and surrounding cities but have no idea how many people live in surrounding areas in more rural settings and come to Leavenworth for shopping? Any ideas?
How is the shopping in Leavenworth? Do most city folks shop there or go to larger Kansas City for their needs say in clothing, etc? Any inputs would be wonderful. Thanks in advance for your thoughts

I lived there for several years and no one goes to leavenworth to shop. I have also lived in lansing for years, which is about 10 minutes from leavenworth, if even that. People go to Kansas city malls in overland park and kC missouri to shop. The last time I was in Leavenworth, it had one plaza with a Sears in it, a walmart and a kmart in Lansing.
