I am looking for some sort of arts position in Salina. It seems like a great place to live. Anyone have any contacts for me? I have a master's in fine arts and film. Would love to relocate to the area. Suggestions???

Forget it. Art is not huge there. Salina is too small for that. You'll go broke. KS city maybe better for your needs.

Little towns in Kansas, except for Lawrence, are not into artsy fartsy stuff. You would do better maybe in KC where there is a degree of artsy fartsy culture.

Don't sell Salina short, It may be one of the only cities I have heard of who has a staff of arts professionals who are City employees, I don't think even Lawrence, Wichita, or Kansas City has made that kind of commitment to the arts. For an Artist to survive forget about places where there are dozens of artist and focus on cities where there are thousands of art lovers and supporters.
Lawrence has too many people who call themselves artist and musicians but make their living doing something else.
I would contact the Salina Arts commission( one of the oldest and most successful arts commissions in the state if not the country)

2870. Art: Assistant Professor:Master of Fine Arts required, experience and ability in research and teaching in an extra medium is preferred, tenure-track position.
