Default Bunker Hill Cafe

Bunker Hill Cafe in Bunker Hill is just east of Russell and just a half-mile north of I-70. Not the "gas-n-go" near the highway. Go into town for great food in an interesting old building across the street from Public TV KOOD. Call in advance to get a place to sit. Everything is great, especially homemade bread and twice-baked potatoes, and more than you can finish.

In Wichita, Lil Mexico at Pawnee and Hydraulic. Been going there since the late 70's, I think, and I always go when I am back in town now.

I like small, inexpensive ethnic places. My favorites right now include Thai House on N. West St., Mahajara (Indian) on N. Broadway, and Byblos (Middle Eastern) on W. 13th St. All are in Wichita.

N&J's Cafe is quite possibly my favorite place in the whole state, and its super reasonable as far as prices go!

Connie's on Broadway anyone?

Oh, and Casa Martinez in Derby is pretty amazing. I used to go there with my family all the time when I was a kid.

We just had a new mexican restraunt open in Sabetha called El Canelo. It is the best authentic mexican restraunt I have ever eaten at.

I was going to chime in here and say Bucky's Drive In in Lawrence but I just found out it closed down. No more Buckaroo burgers for me when I come back to visit.
