olathe bbq steakhouses- which is best
I'm on my way to olathe kansas for a dinner date. I need to know which bbq joint is the best. Money and price aren't relevant. i'd rather pay 10 bucks for a nice dinner in a happy place, than 100 dollars for a over spiced gourmet in a classy joint.
I'm talking bbq, beer, atmosphere, music,[oh yeah] the kids, salad bar, reasonable price, parking, location and so on.
Where can me and the family go for a nice KC bbq or KC steak- and have a beer? and pick at a salad bar while we wait.

where do you go for a good bbq in olathe or the immediate area?
A fun place with good food and a good selection of brews.

Ikow this comes late...
...but if you're looking for good BBQ, great music and beer, try BB's Lawnside BBQ. Here is the web address: B.B.'s Lawnside BBQ
It isn't in Olathe -- Overland Park, I think, and worth the drive.

The good barbecue places aren't in Olathe, but Texas Roadhouse in Olathe is a decent place for steak/beer and you get to eat free peanuts while you wait...

This link gives some BBQ joints in the Olathe vicinity:
BBQ: Olathe, KS - Google Maps
I'd recommend Texas Roadhouse near 119th and Strang Line. It is located in a busy area with a lot of shops and other restaurants around (Target, AMC 20?, Hooters, Chicago, etc.)
I go there every month. The prices can be a little high but you won't spend $100 depending on how much you order. It is very busy there especially in the evenings and weekends. You get to eat free peanuts while waiting. They do have a little something if you're celebrating a birthday for your kids or even adults. The atmosphere is really fun there for anybody (family, friends, co-workers, etc.).
Another place is Oklahoma Joes. There's another place in KCK (Village West I believe) that is awesome. I'll have to get back to you on what the place is called but that place is quite a ways from Olathe (approx. 30 to 40 min. away) but may be worth it.

I am a lifetime Kansas Citian and a barbeque lover.
I second Oklahoma Joe's. It's located at 119th and I-35 on the southeast side of that intersection. It's in the same parking lot as Tractor Supply and just to the west of SuperTarget. Very easy to find and the food is great.
It's not the best barbeque in all of KC, but it's, by far, the best in Olathe.
No salad bar, but you might get beat up going to any KC barbeque joint by ordering a salad
