Believe me, they are trying to get out as fast as they can!

It's amazing how all those people would rather fight an hour of traffic on 435/470/71 etc twice a day to live on the MO side even though they work in KS isn't it?

In JoCo, they go to the office parks and get out asap, in rural KS, they are all heading to another cool state that has things to do and see (Colorado). I go to Denver many times a year and Kansas is just in the way.

We should fill Kansas with water and give KCMO some nice ocean front property. Missouri has two great major cities and tons of things to do and see. Missouri is a top tourism state, has museums and amusement parks, pro sports and urban centers. The state has wonderful outdoor recreation opportunities.

Why would people go to Kansas? This is why everybody in the state is obsessed with KU and Kstate. There is nothing else to do.

So, it's either sit around and talk about how wonderful KU is or go to MO or CO and do something interesting.

The only thing out of staters do in Kansas is stop for gas and pay the tolls and hope they get to a civilized place soon like KC, Denver etc.

So while MO cars drive a fast as they can to get across the state or out of the JoCo office parks. KS cars are all over MO because they have nothing else to do.

From the Lake of the Ozarks to Branson to the KC and StLouis areas.

Ever drive into KC from the east on a Sunday? Half the traffic is from KS going back to their beige homes with KU flags on the front after spending the weekend rafting in the rivers of MO, riding roller coasters, going to a MLB game etc. Haha.

It’s not like you guys are not easy to spot. If you are from Kansas, I think it is tradition to make sure everybody that ever sees you out in public knows you are a KU fan.

There is nothing more hilarious than a family of five, all decked out in KU paraphernalia like they just came from Allen Field House at Six Flags in Denver or StLouis.

Is it a cult or something?

It’s pretty funny watching you guys drive around KC showing each other how much you love KU, You can’t go to a Royals game with Royals stuff, you have to make sure everybody knows you are a KU fan, but believe me, if you go to Boston or Orlando on vacation looking like that, it’s even more dorky looking.

Wave the wheat? Yea, ok. Then I will stop at Cabella's and buy me some camos and get me a couch at Nebraska Furniture Mart. Ye Haw!

I'm having fun too Samantha!

What's even more amazing is to see the numbers of Missouri cars on US69, traveling parallel to their home state. To do this, they had to travel a minimum of 4 miles west to exit Mizzery and travel north or south on a decent road. Are there no North-South roads in Mizzery?

Default I love Kansas

(1) Olathe, Lawrence and the Overland Park area
(2) stormchasing around
(3) wide open spaces and the horizon so that I can see the storms coming or going, the beautiful skies, being able to see from miles away (like miles out you can see KU on the hit)
(4) the restaurants
(5) the people

We came here in 1981
My kids were born in Lawrence
I met my wife at Theater in the Park
Got my doctorate at KU

What song?

EDIT - AH, I just googled it. I like Dust In The Wind by Kansas better than Carry On My Wayward Son. Was Kansas (the band) not popular everywhere in the 70s? Living in Kansas I hear their music, and I just assumed everyone had heard it. But when I googled South Park and Kansas song, I saw people asking what that song was, and that surprises me. Maybe it's just younger people who weren't around in the 70s/80s to know.
