Johnson County minority data
Blue Valley district sees minority growth
Incoming students are not only fueling the Blue Valley School District’s enrollment, data show they also are diversifying its student population.
Enrollment information from the Kansas State Department of Education shows the percentage of minority students in the district has gone from 8.6 percent to 15.4 percent in the last six school years.
At the same time, the annual net growth in minority students in the district has outpaced white students since the 2003-04 school year. This school year the district saw a net increase of 436 students. Of those students, 258 were minorities and 178 were white.
Blue Valley’s neighboring school districts are seeing a similar trend. The Kansas education department’s data indicate the Olathe and Shawnee Mission school districts’ growth in minority students surpassed that of white students for this school year.

Huh? Maybe you are just joking around. I think this is great! Johnson County, well, southern JoCo especially, is so......beige. Boring architecture, no charm, same old stores and chain restaurants.
Thank God for some color.
I am caucasian, by the way, and live in a racially integrated neighborhood and attend a racially integrated church. Best think in the wolrd for my kids.

kmflan, where do you live and go to church, if I may ask? Some diversity is a desire of ours...we live in a town ( in Illinois)where we have a fair amount of diversity and I am concerned about losing that if we move. I don't want my kids to grow up thinking everyone looks like them!

??? What is the Point Here?
Versatile....I am not quite sure why you posted those stats. Are you concerned, or just curious, about various races residing in the same community?
I am caucasian, and the color of my skin has nothing to do with who I am, how I feel, how I believe, and how I treat other people. I just don't understand why we have to "classify" the human race by the pigment of their skin.
If the majority of the world is so concerned and worried about the color of a person's skin....then I am proud to be a minority who sees beyond skin color, and looks to the inside.

I posted to the info because i have read posts asking about the racial diversity and how their children might be treated. This was not a racially biased post. "Just the facts maam".

Ok, sorry. I didn't see a posting questioning the minority stats in JOCO prior to your posting. Your posting appeared to be an unsolicited comment.

It's all relative. Priority to me is not demographics about nationalities.
