You know I have no problem with anyone having a different opinion than I do. It is their right. But most Christians want to change the world to make them do as they think is right. They want to stop people from gambling, having sex if not married, no gay rights, only Christian religion taught in school ect. People who only do as they believe for them self and do not try to change others way of life, I have no problem with that. That’s was this country is about. I can not believe in god, and you can, and I should not try to stop you from being on the school board nor you me, but we should keep our personal opinions at home. And there is a huge difference between science and intelligent design. Science has hypothesis, facts and more facts that support a theory. Intelligent design has a 2000 yo book that is about as relevant to today as last years lotto ticket numbers.

After years of watching the moral gyrations of the "Religious Right" here's something I've concluded:

In the Beginning (heh), their children would tell me "Agents of Satan planted fake bones in the earth to make people think there were dinosaurs and that the earth is older than the Bible says. It's all a big lie because Satan is trying defeat God in the battle between good and evil." (Seriously, I was told this by these peoples children.)

Then as the years passed, dinosaurs became so popluar with kids, all kids, that the Christian fundamentalists started changing the story. Now, dinosaur bones are real. BUT! They aren't millions of years old, they're just 6,000 years old and people and dinosaurs walked the earth together.

I mean really, what do you say to your home schooled child who in those down moments turns on the TV to cartoons with dinos, and movies with dinos, or going to the museum with the dinos -not to mention the nice retired lady who lives on the corner being a tour guide at the museum where they have the dinos - I mean - is she an "Agent of Satan," too who's going to burn for all eternity???

The Religious Right has rationalized away so much of it's position because their kids wanted - and were going to get - those cool dino toys, that it's impossible to take them seriously, and scary that they have so much political power in the US. They're willing to take the postition to judge - a horrible judgment with a great deal of self-righteous satisfaction - of who's going to burn in agony for all eternity. The horrors the Religious Right wishes on God's Creation are really quite disturbing, but they take an enormous amount of satisfaction from it and then, they consider it MORAL.

Seriously. I think God deserves better. At least, I think His Creation should be treated with respect, rather than the reviling of the "Right." I know, that's me the "Agent of Satan." *sigh*

How can you even talk to people who believe this stuff? How is it any different than Tom Cruse telling us the Xemu came to earth millions of years ago and dumped all the galactic rebels in to volcanoes and killed them but their clustered souls called theatons attach to us and ruin our lives, bla bla bla.
