Good Bakeries in Wichita? (Cakes)
My daughter's b-day is coming up and I wondered if anyone could recommend a bakery that does good cakes. I could easily go to Dillons or Walmart but I wondered if there were any local favorites.

The days of the family owned bakery are about over. There may be a few left but not too many. When I was young, the place in Wichita to go for cakes was this bakery called "Ketteman's" or "Kettleman's", I don't recall which but they made some really darn good tastin stuff there!

You might try Cameo Cakes, Bagatelle, Monica's Bundt Cake, Cake & Cookie Creations, Artistic Cakes, Cheri's Bakery...
.. and I guess you could throw Dairy Queen in there . I'm sure there are others, but I hope that helps some!

Thanks for the replies. I'll look into those places.
My Daughter is turning 5 years old. We asked her the other day what she wanted on her cake. Her reply? "Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz!" She saw the movie for the first time last weekend and that's all she talks about now.

I don't recall ever seeing an Actual Bakery anywhere in KS...
Dillons Grocery Store(bakery) offers Birthday cakes....I'm not sure they'd have the Wiz of Oz Though...
