[quote=luzianne;7668800]melissaca25 - how old are you? Does your name mean that you're 25? I was just thinking if you're young and wanting to be around younger people then quote]
Yep, 25. I've been checking out Lawrence on the internet and it looks like something I would like. Seems to be close to other small towns that I could drive to if really wanted to get away. Thanks for all the suggestions! I am learning so much about this state, its awesome!

I have a little town that will top the list of everything here! I have always wanted to visit this cozy little town by the ocean full of culture and nice people! SAVANNAH, Georgia! Full of small town charm and totally laid back!

I take it you don't like Kansas? Or you've never been to Kansas?

No, have never been there. I am in a rural enough area here in Florida. I am sure it is very nice there. I know there are alot of beautiful farms. The tornado thing scares me in Kansas too.

Yeah, if only Kansas could deal with something as docile as devastating hurricanes once a year.

No need to worry about tornados. I have lived here my entire life and have yet to be blown away by a tornado. Did you not know that FLORIDA actually has more tornadoes than Kansas?

I would invite you to Nebraska--somewhere north of Kearney or try N. of GI, like the St. Paul area. Or, how about around one of the lakes: McConnaghy is awesome and Harlan (Patterson Harbor) is beautiful if you have an eye for the prairie and really mean what you say when you say rural.
I'm afraid though, what a Californian wants is Taos, New Mexico. Rugged, alive and well. Just don't spoil these places when you get there, please. They really are more about the sky and the weather. You gotta be a little tough and pretty secure.
