Default Rural Life

I think you might really like Concordia which is in north central Kansas. It has around 6000 people many of French and Swedish ancestry. It has a junior college and a really nice downtown full of shops and a restored opera house. It has all the usual churches but has an especially large Catholic influence. The Sisters of St Joseph have a huge beautiful Motherhouse there. It is located on a four lane highway so easy to get to larger cities. Hope this helps

Lawrence is probably my favorite part of Kansas, but it might be more on the college town side, rather than small town.

Fort Scott seems like a charming old town (I was only there for one brief time, so I don't have too much to say about it).

I would highly recommend checking out Weston, Missouri. Even though it's quite close to Kansas City (I think it is considered a KC suburb) it is full of quaint, small town charm with many charming B&Bs.

Check out a photo thread:

Population less then 4k.

I dunno where else... how small are you looking for?

Lawrence is also a good small town as said.. and Weston.. downtown Excelsior Springs, MO maybe... tho its also a suburb of KC basically.. stayed at this B&B before and it was very nice

I need to chill out and experinice simple living even if its for 7 or 10 days. I really want to go out of my comfort zone of what I know and experinice something wholesome and good without all the hype that surrounds my life. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

What about Mesa or Tempe, AZ? You'd have a blast in Tempe.

You should check out El Dorado, KS, it is very close to Wichita, so if they don't have what you need there, you can just go to wichita, a maybe 30 min. drive. Wichita isn't a huge city, but it has 300k I think.
