Default Dallas to Wichita

My company is relocating from Dallas to Wichita,
I live in Lewisville and like Dallas,
I am not thrilled about relocation to Wichita,
But don't want to loose my job either,
Can any former Dallas Residents give me any feedback.
Do you miss the Restaurants, Shopping, and Amenities of Dallas ?
What do you like about Wichita,
Where did you buy your house at, I am looking at Andover,
Any reply would be great,
Looking for info from someone in the same position

thanks

Wichita is smaller than Dallas, so traffic is not the extreme issue there you face in Big D. I lived in Lewisville 15+years. I lived in Kansas 4+ years. I still visit both Wichita & Lewisville/Dallas regularly, so I know both cities pretty well. The restaurant issue you aske of, is that there's plenty of great places in the Wichita area - quality shows - I particularly enjoy the local (suburbia & out further into the country) places owned and operated by any German Baptist family of Kansas! The best chefs! (yummy sound here) Best wishes in your new 'diggs'

If you enjoy the more urban feel, you should locate on the east side of Wichita. The west side is a little more laid back, with less traffic. Andover is a great community and the public schools have a good reputation.

Schools are better in Wichita. If you love Dallas, why don't you stay where you're at and find another job, there's more jobs in Dallas. Don't move somewhere you don't want to, it's not worth it.

Smile Wichita Info

Hey there...I work with a real estate company so I have a lot of info that you will find useful.

Wichita is great for being the biggest small town. There is not the whole big town feel due to its size and number of agricultural communities thriving in the area. With Wichita being the size it is and known for small town feel there is a lot to do here. We have a great variety of restaurants, some of which are brand new and very popular. Wichita has museums of sorts, in fact, Ivan the T-Rex will be unveiled over the next week or two.

Andover is a nice city. A lot of the homes there are a bit more pricey but they are very nice. Andover has the reputation of being the high class of the high class. The "Rich Neighborhood" if you will. If you look seriously in Andover then you will want the farther west side, closer to Wichita as you will have a Wichita address and the county taxes, which are cheaper, but you will be in Andover school district which is more desirable to some.

Derby is another great community that is growing nicely. New business are coming in due the to new housing additions developing over the last couple of years. Great school district and easy commute to anywhere you want to be in Wichita.

I have lots more I would love to share with you. Let me know if I can help~!

Tara
