Default Want to move to Lyndon or Overbrook

We would like to move to Lyndon or Overbrook early next year and transfer our 1st and 3rd grader to one of those schools (oldest daughter graduating from Washburn Rural). Dh grew up in a small town and does not really like Topeka and the houses are much cheaper. Someone told me that people from Lyndon do not accept those from Topeka....is this true? Anyone with info on life in the two towns please let me know. I am looking forward to having my children in schools that are much smaller. It is hard to play sports and do extra curricular activities when you are competing with 400 other kids for 12 or 13 spots
