Default MY first post - Colby ? the good -bad - weather ?

may move to Colby in the near future - have looked at a lot of towns in the western side of Kansas and Colby looks good , we liked Atwood as well but its real small and no rentals as yet ; would not want to buy a place till i live there for a time - just would like to know if the wind blows all year here hard or just in the spring time mostly ? As i am leaving texas humid weather i do not want to trade one major problem for another - I just thought the area looked nice when we went through there the last few times thanks for any help in information on this area , tommy

The wind does blow off and on all year, but to be sure, spring is the worst!
It's not humid very often in Colby. (which means it also doesn't rain as much as you're probably used to)
If I had to live in a big town again, I wouldn't mind Colby. I have family there, and some close friends lived there for a number of years. It's a nice town...

Do you have a job lined up in that particular area?
Western Kansas is a good place to retire, but many people leave the area for urban centers that have a more diverse range of job offerings.
Hays is the medical center for northwest Kansas. Colby is a pleasant enough town as well. Good luck
