Relocating to Wichita area
My family is considering relocating to the wichita area, initially we are considering renting either a townhome or 3 bedroom apartment until we find a home. I am trying to find out what the best areas to live in are. I have heard very good things regarding Andover, Maize and Derby. Does anyone have any other recommendations and or townhome/apartments recommendations?
Thanks

If you have kids the Maize and Goddard school districts offer exceptional schools. Maize borders west Wichita and Goddard is approx. 10 miles west of Wichita. Depending on where you work in Wichita another option could be Valley Center approx. 15 mins north of Wichita just of the highway. Parts of Wichita are fantastic and nice family homes can be bought for next to nothing (depending where you are coming from). Other parts are pretty undesireable depending on your wants and needs.

We do have children that would be attending High School. Thank you for your feedback I will have to further in the Goddard and Maize area. Do you know if there are any nice townhomes or apartments in those areas?

Wichita Area
I am wondering if Park City, Bell aire, Riverview and Kechi are decent areas to move to near Wichita. I am assuming these are considered suburbs of the area.

Riverview is a nieghborhood in the city center, not a suburb.

Yeah they could be considered suburbs, I have family that lives in the Bel Aire area and they love it, the area is growing but the cops out there will get you but I was very close to there at one point and it is very nice. Park City is okay as well... Kechi I can't really comment on, dont go out that way. If you are planning on working in the city and dont mind a drive then you can check those places out as well. I live on the West side but not as far as Goddard and Maize... I hear great things about Goddard and Maize school districts, but the Wichita schools aren't bad either... Pretty much the same education depending on where you go. Kapaun, Northwest, East and Heights are really good high schools... I graduated from Heights about 4 years ago.

Living in Wichita
Thank you for the comments and suggestions regarding the wichita area. So far we are leaning more towards the Maize area. Does anyone know of any nice apartments or townhomes located in the Maize area that one should consider when moving. Eventually we would like to find a home in the area but that would be phase II of our relocation.

I can't edit my post:
I thought you had said Riverside, not Riverview. Riverview is a neighborhood in north Wichita, Park City, and Valley Center.
