How many people are looking to move out of Wichita? Also if you are moving what is the reason for the move?

I am looking to move out of Wichita... I have been in Wichita for 20 out of the 22 years of my life and want to move to a place with more stable weather (not a fan of the hail and tornadoes- not that Wichita gets tornadoes hitting the city everyday but still...) and more to do... Im young with no children... So my reasons probably aren't very relevant to some individuals...

I moved out of Wichita this past November. Best move of my life. I moved to San Diego. NO major weather problems out here. The reason for moving was just to live in a nice beautiful city some where out of the Midwest. My boyfriend and I were born and raised in Wichita and we didn't want to spend the rest of our lives there. We both love the ocean so San Diego was the "it" city for us. It's great!

I plan to move out in July. Because I going to school and i really dont want to go to wichita schools. Its a nice town. Some parts are better than others. Its a good place to be if your good with machery because of Hawker, Cessna, ect. Also, there is a military base here.

Yeah, I moved out after HS and went to KU but then somehow ended back up in Wichita with a pretty good teaching job. But there just wasn't anything in Wichita for me to do. I didn't want to be stuck in a town I grew up in ending up married and pregnant like most of the people I graduated HS with.

I'm moving to NY city in less than a week. I have a job lined up there. I might feel differently once I start living there but I'm really sad to be leaving Wichita. I hated this town when I first moved here 5 years ago but it does grow on you.
As I am now figuring out living in a big city has its own problems. My studio apartment over there costs more than my two bedroom condo here. Everything is so expensive. The rules are also more complicated........emission / safety checks on vehicles, alternate side street parking, parking meters, long lines everywhere...........
The one thing I love about Wichita is that you can get from one end of the town to the other in just 15 minutes. I also love that the concept of bulk shopping. I'm going to miss Walmart.

Well there actually isn't one too far but I'm sure with traffic it makes it difficult. There's on in NJ across the bridge. Try googling Walmart and see if there's more
