They have been held at various churchs there. They burn biology books about evolution, Playboy magazines and other things that are sinful. Oh, and they had a "crushing" party for Dixie Chicks records too!

"SAVED thousands of lives as opposed to taking them? We don't know"
That is major copout response in an attempt to justify murder. If that were the case we could go on to kill just about anyone we had the slightest suspicion of because they MAY have turned out to be a murderer... In my opinion it's not our right to decide an innocent persons fate. It's called free will. You are right that an innocent baby could end up being a killer just like Tiller, but he/she may have found the cure for cancer, or became a great leader that helped to SAVE millions of lives. Abortion comes down to people choosing to not take responsibilty for their actions. If you don't want a baby put it up for adoption, their are a lot of people who would love to have a child that can't. We were all babies at one point, do you not feel as though you were worth having?

Well... sounds like a bit much, especially the Dixie Chicks thing. Even so, these don't sound like the kind of book burnings I was thinking. It's not like they wen't to the public library or school and stole a bunch of the books and burned them, it sounds like they owned the books and chose to do away with them. Sounds like a perfectly legal thing to do in a free country. Just like all sorts of people can bash on whoever they want, it's called freedom of speech. Watch the news you'll see everytime. Sounds to me like you wanted some shock value.

Just remember, none of this has anything to do with Kansas City, MO. It's crap like this that gives KC a bad image because so much of the national population and media think KC is in Kansas.

It is a huge mystery to me why any non-religious fanatics would even consider living in Kansas! Why would anyone even contemplate operating an women's health care facility in Kansas. Talk about dangerous jobs!

Kansas has become a breeding ground for the new American Taliban. Talibanism -- the notion that deadly force can justifiably be used to force free-thinking individuals to conform to ultraconservative dogma -- used to be something associated with primitive tribal cultures in Asia Minor. Now we have nutters breaking into American churches with firearms spraying blood on the pulpit to make their point about "respecting life." And his fellow talibanists on this forum shrug it off as karma?
It used to be that living in America meant that you had the freedom to practice philosophical dominion in your own life so long as you didn't compromise the freedom of others. But the new American Taliban plans to end all that. They want to practice THEIR philosophical dominion in YOUR life. God has spoken to them and anything goes as they mount their vile crusade of "Christian" jihad. Be afraid. Kansas is the Waziri Hills of American religious terrorists. One person may not represent the philosophy of the many in Kansas, but you can see the support he has even on this one thread. Time to drain the swamp.

I think things like this are like the bombings of black churches in the 60s in Birmingham AL, it turned public opinion against the Racists and will turn public opinion against the Christians. They are their own worst enemy. The tired old crap of the religious, racists establishment is getting old and people are sick of it. Things will never return to the idealistic puritan way of the 50s in this country ever again. The gays are not going back in the closet and abortion is not going to be made illegal, This is the last gasp of a dying era that is long past its use by date. The Fred Phelps of this world are more akin to the Limbaugh’s and Hannity’s than anything on the Left. Sorry to say, these religious nuts who do this kind of thing and those who support it like some nut jobs on this forum do not learn from past history, Terror acts never work and people turn against those they may have even felt some kinship with because of the extreme acts. Even the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was a death knell not for the United States but for Japan. This is a death knell for the Churches of the extreme, the Hagee’s of the world, those that hold up signs of the past that say, integration is communism, and now hold up signs that National health care is communism. The same people who think that holding tea bagging parties some how is responsible citizenship, that government only works when it goes the way the narrow-minded want it to. This is the true colors of those who profess to believe in a religion of love, the false faced of group that only has hatred underneath, the rotting under the smiles and bibles. It is a disgusting thing that repulses thinking and thoughtful people. Their demise is brought about not by some conspiracy of government or from a superstitious Demon called Satan, but by them self’s, they are self fulfilling prophecies, and good reddens to them.

First of all my mother should have had the choice as to whether I was born or not. If I was never born I would never know would I? As for adoption, yes, couples will trip all over themselves and pay a fortune for a nice WHITE baby or even a Chinese baby but a brown or black baby will go unclaimed and unwanted for the most part. The local TV station here as a thing called "Wednesday's Child" and they are always trying to find homes for such babies because nobody wants them.
But you are right in that Tiller may have ended a cure for cancer too. He may have taken thousands of lives and he may have saved thousands of lives. His fate is between him and his God now. If he went to Hell, so be it.

That is what I don't really understand. It used to be that the south produced most of these nutcases and that is understandable because of the trailer park culture here in the south. But you would expect better from Kansas.

Hey you don't totally escape blame just because you sit on the other side of State Line Rd from the religious taliban types in Johnson County!
