No jobs anywhere it seems.
First off I hate for this to be my first post in this forum but man it sure is getting worse day by day out here. I have been unemployed since Feb 09 and have had plenty of time to try to find a job with no success. I have sent resumes and filled out so many applications that my hands hurt been on so many interviews that just left me wondering is it me? Even a few jobs that never lasted long like I mean seriously I have worked nearly everyday right out of high school, and have never had trouble finding a job. Its to the point now that I have exhausted nearly all reallistic possibilities. Sooo now that my UI benefits are exhausted I am waiting to receive EUC08 benefits which I hear can be an absolute pain. Does anyone have any advise for a young man?

Thanks Fred
I will do some searching in the local grocery and gas stations but have tried already and seems that nearly every where I go isn't hiring maybe I'm being to negative but I will not give up. Mind you I spent nearly a decade at a design firm working for 18 an hour doing contract work. Its just so hard to lower your standard of living to half or less then what your used to. But I guess its hard times for everyone. Maybe two or three jobs are in my future.

I see you're from Topeka. Petro Deli is looking for help. I realize it's a convenience store (on NW 46th, just off 75), but money is money, and in this market, you really can't be too picky. I wish you luck, and hope it's not too far from your home, for you to consider.

Don't know if this will help but this NY Times interactive unemployment map shows rather low unemployment out in western Kansas. I don't know what kind of jobs are available out there.

Accordig to that map, Cheyenne co. is at 4.2%. Up 1.1 from last year.
My husband recently lost his job. He was officially unemployed for three days before he started his new job. With higher pay and better benefits.
That's the thing about living in a relatively poor area; we don't see the big highs of a healthy economy, but we sure don't seem to have those nasty lows, either...
