Possible move to Lawrence - job search (sublet, job market)

I posted last week about a Ph.D. student looking for housing (thanks for all the helpful advice). My boyfriend will be in his doctoral program starting in the fall at KU. I visited over the weekend and I really like the town.

I'm thinking about making a move from Phoenix. However, I would be doing this in the current scary economic/job market.

What are the major industries, companies in the area (aside from the University)? I have a background in Marketing and Advertising as well as curriculum design and faculty training.

contact ku they should have housing info as well...sometimes students are looking to sublet if they are studying out of the country...my son sublet to someone at KSU it worked out great for him
