Default Sunflower Help Please!

Hello to my neighbors to the north!

I'm a photographer here in Tulsa and am trying to put together a visit to your fair state to photograph sunflowers.

We'd be coming from Tulsa and are completely open to destination.

I'm looking for a couple of things: the best sunflower fields and bloom status.

I understand that August/September is the peak time, but I'd hate to miss July if they're looking good now!

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

There is a Sunflower processing plant out near Colby I would suspect there would be large sunflower farmers out there, you might call the Coby Kansas Chamber of commerce.

Natural real sunflowers are gorgeous this time of year along side the rural roads in Eastern Colorado and Goodland, Weskan and Sharon Springs KS.

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions!

Any more out there? We'd like to drive from Tulsa, so thought we'd head for I-35 and go north, but completely open to suggestions!

Pittsburg KS use to have a farmer that planted a whole field of sunflowers on Highway 69...am not sure if it is still there.
