Transferred to Wichita- looking for upscale
I know, this seems like other posts- but I've nevere lived anywhere but Connecticut. Divorced guy 45, looking for upscale and convenience. Will be working near airport, and less than 30 minutes would be great. I also do like wine/food/good markets/etc. So, Old Town looks nice, but think it may be lacking a nice balcony or patio. Also, hows the singles scene? 30-45 (yes, women)
Great retsurant tips are good too! I will need two BR's to accomodate my older kids when they visit.
Thoughts appreciated- please respond
Thanks,

This link might help for Old Town: Live | OldtownWichita.com
Some other suggestions:
College Hill Real Estate, Homes, Brownstones - Wichita Condos, Lofts, Flats ~ Parkstone at College Hill
Wichita Apartments, Condos and Residences - WaterWalk
Are you looking for house, condo, apartment?
You will be supplied with loads of yummy restaurants. Scotch and Sirloin, Sabor, Ty's Diner, La Galette, Old Mill Tasty Shop, Cinnamon's Deli.... I really could go on for quite some time.
Also, Kansas Grown Farmer's Market and the Old Town Farmer's Market might interest you.

You can live anywhere in Wichita, even up in Valley Center or out in Andover and still be within 30 minutes of Mid-Continent.

To answer the question- I'm looking to rent- not sure how long I'm staying. House, townhouse- who knows? Character and charm, convenience all matter.
Thanks again!!!!

From Connecticut, never lived elsewhere? Offhand, I give you three months. That's not a putdown of CT or KS, just an observation based upon cultural differences that will loom very large.

Everything in Wichita is "upscale". It is a very "upscale" city.

My parents are from the East Side of Providence RI. My mother Italian, is regularly asked if she is Mexican. (They don't see Eye-Talians in Wichita very often). My father is Jewish. Although they complain regularly how 'uncultured' Wichita is. I doubt they will ever leave. They lived on the East Side for 40 years and have been in Wichita over 25 now.

Anyone have any info on Leawood in Johnson County, KS? Particularly High Drive. Is it true that's a long, long road? Thanks in advance.
