LOL!
Isn't this the same aircraft that flew over New York City (or maybe it was Manhattan) not too long ago and scared the people?

I thought that was Air Force One -- a 747.

Thank you for that.

Wiki says,
"Air Force One is the air traffic control call sign of any United States Air Force aircraft carrying the President of the United States...Air Force One is a prominent symbol of the American presidency and its power."

Why would this scare the people?

You caught me on that one! The plane doesn't become Air Force One until the President steps on it. But it was one of two that serve as Air Force One, and it was flying low over the city for photos -- unannounced. Most probably didn't even recognize it as Air Force One, but just a large airliner flying low over a city that was struck by two low-flying airliners eight years ago. It was also "in formation" with a fighter plane that was filming it.

Wow. The OP brought back some memories.

For all you folks who don't know the A-12 was a stealth aircraft concept for the US Navy that began in the '80's and was finally cancelled in 1991 because of cost overruns and technical issues. It was dubbed "Avenger II". It never got beyond the mockup phase. The full scale mockup still exists in Fort Worth at the Lockheed Martin plant (or it did a few years back when I worked there...it's in storage somewhere around there). It was pretty much a model for how not to design an airplane and many lessons were learned. One of the big problems was the thing was over NTE weight by a pretty good margin....to the point that the carrier deck wouldn't support it.

The B-2 'Spirit' can be spotted fairly often in the midwest because it flies out of Whiteman AFB near Sedalia, MO.
