Stealth Avenger Overhead
I know there's an airshow going on but does it include a stealth Avenger?
One flew over my neighborhood twice. I had the most eerie feeling when I saw it.
I had no idea what it was that was flying overhead so I did a search and what I saw is called a stealth Avenger.
It had fire coming out of the back and then it looked like it sprayed something.
Here is where I found a picture of what I saw.

KC airshow usually has both the stealth fighter and bomber. Sometimes they actually stop at the airport, most of the time they just do flybys.

Bet you saw a F-117 from Holloman AFB, NM. Beautiful plane. Also called a NightHawk.

Are you talking about the Darth Vader looking one? I think that's the B2 Stealth Bomber. So cool because it's already right overhead before you even hear it coming. I saw somewhere that the B2 would only be in the airshow on Saturday, not on Sunday. That and the Blue Angels are my favorites - but I didn't see anything about the Blue Angels.
I kind of preferred the airshow when it was at Whiteman AFB.
Here's a picture and some information about it - http://inventors.about.com/od/milita.../B2_Bomber.htm

Yes, that's what I saw, the B2 Stealth Bomber.
My goodness you people are great. I didn't expect any replies.
Thank you for all of your help and setting my mind at ease.

I saw the B2 Stealth at an airshow just after the gulf war. We were told that it was near and then it was right overhead. Made me think what it must have been like for Saddam's troops. Just an awesome sight and you really cannot hear it!

Stealth Bombers fly over KC all the time. They are based just 50 miles east of the city.

Yeah, I meant to say that they are already past before you hear them. You see them overhead and then don't hear them till they're already off in the distance.

A couple friends and I were pheasant hunting in Iowa several years ago, just quietly strolling along down already harvested rows of corn stalks when we suddenly caught a glimpse of a dark object overhead and then VRRRRROOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!
It was a B52, probably only 100-200 feet above us. I think we all nearly fertilized the farmer's corn field for the next year.
