Yes, there are 'flat lands' in some areas of KS; however, you obviously have never visited the entire state or you would know there are many areas with beautiful rolling hills. You also used the term "out there"; I am not sure what you meant by that. Boring? Well, that is relative. I have heard it said that only boring people get bored.....

I have lived in Texas, granted it was Midland/Odessa, but I would rather live in Overland Park anyday. Plus the property taxes are cheeper in Overland Park then some other places in KC. There is so much to do in the KC area, does not matter if you are a Baseball, Football, NASCAR fan (Granted the Chiefs and Royals need to go back to the drawing board) if you like the arts, or even into outdoors there are tons of things to keep you entertained.
It does get cold there but, who complains about Kansas cold...lol it is not Minnesota cold.

I currently live in S.E. Kansas (which is considerably different from K.C.). I was raised here and then left after H.S. and traveled a lot while in the Air Force. I retired in San Antonio and returned to Ks because of family illness. Once my obligations here are finished I plan to return to San Antonio. As others have said your personal choices are what matters; however, what has not been mentioned is that you will pay
state taxes in Ks. Also, each year when you register your automobile you will pay personal property taxes on it; not just a registration fee as in Texas. Good luck, whatever your choice.
