Are you moving to Wichita, or a small town? Wichita is like any other city to me. Too many people, too much traffic, too much crime. But I don't think it's any worse than other big cities, and it's got lots of things to do. What kind of things are you concerned about?

You can also find more information about Wichita here:

www wichita dot com

On the right-hand side of the home page, there is a "Moving to our community?" banner. It is a video about the City of Wichita. Pretty neat.

Thanks,
Ronda Marchant

I hope you like wide open spaces. Small towns population less than 400 people. Too many times the kids growup and leave town and the farms for the big city, no jobs other than farming.

I just wonder why you think the people in Kansas "are a bit odd".

nvared,

You know I am from Nebraska and I was also wondering the same thing. I have met some people from Delaware they had some very strange ideas about the plains. To me they were a bit odd. Besides you can put several Delaware states in either of Nebraska or Kansas, so being from a very small state and going to a large western state everything is a long ways off.

The Sand Hills is one of the most desolate areas I have ever driven through in the Great Plains. It is desolate with hardly any people, and I feel that this is the beginning of the "American West."

Hiya sweet, I live in Ashland ks, which is in Clark Country and three hours drive from Wichita. I live in a 900 populations town.I originally came from Denver, which I found awful. Living in a bigger city offers lots to do, but just find a decent neighborhood to live in as far as Wichita.People here in Kansas are friendly and decent, sure it is the plains, but this area is chock full of history and other interesting points.please visit your local Chamber of Commerce and other places that can properly give you local information. There is a bunch of awesome towns outside of Wichita that offers alot in activitys and jobs, just pick a area that is suitable for your jobs skills, I mean a small farming/ranching town would not be suitable for a real estate agent, nor a systems programmer but great for a nurse or a teacher.
