Those pics are great! Zona Rosa looks very "quaint".

Can anyone tell me exactly what the Power and Light district is? Is it shopping or what?

Yea, there is not much retail really, but it's more than a nightclub district.

The AMC theater there is AMAZING. So is the Midland Theater which hosts many concerts, comedians etc.

There are also some very nice places that appeal to a more mature demographic (like myself) than the young partiers such as Bristol (seafood/steak), Gordon Biersch (bar and grill), Peachtree (soul food), Raglan Road (Irish Pub) etc. all in a very interesting and urban environment.

On Friday and Saturday nights, the "LIVE" block of the P&L District turns into the biggest party in the midwest. It's a great place to go hang out and have a drink, listen to a live band and people watch.

Sparksharp, I'll try to get out and go take some pictures for you of Johnson County shopping AND housing and post them. Probably won't be till Sunday, though, because I have work tomorrow, then out of town Saturday.

Go to Google Maps

Type in "119th and Roe, Leawood, KS"

Then click on the "street view"

Click into the map and you can use your arrow keys to "drive" the streets. You also get a 360 degree view. It's pretty cool.

There is a compass in the upper left corner.

From 119th and Roe, go West a ways to the stoplight, then turn right and go into the shopping area of Town Center Plaza.

If you continue West on 119th you will see the Sprint campus on your right.

Further West on 119th, there is more shopping on both sides.

From the same starting point at 119th and Roe, if you go South on Roe, you will be able to make several left or right turns into some very nice neighborhoods.

I'm sure others can point you to other great starting points. But this is a great way to get a sneak peek!

If you see a house online that looks interesting, it's also a great way to check out the surrounding neighborhood!

Just put in the address.

That google map idea would be great for searching an area! You're right!

However, google maps don't seem to be working for me correctly at this point for some reason. Maybe the site is having issues? Or maybe it's a slow connection from my ISP? I don't know...but the maps blur when I try to "drive" and it won't let me drive any further till the blurring clears up on the street map which is taking forever!!! Darnit! I'll have to give this a try later.

I appreciate that tip though!
