Thanks,
Herington, KS

I'm not specifically familiar with Herington, but am very familiar with the general area. Herington Looks like a typical small KS town.

Plan on regular trips to Junction City or Salina for shopping and minor medical. Longer day or weekend trips to Wichita or KC for "city" type activities or major medical.

Sometimes it takes a while for newcomers to a small town to fit in. If you are not already familiar with small town life, then you should know: Keep any negative comments to yourself. Ask lots of questions of your neighbors, let them show you around and tell you about the town. Some will ask you about where you go to church. It's just conversation. If you are not religious (and even if you are) just say you aren't sure about that right now and ask them where they go. Again, it's not an attempt to convert you, it's just get-acquainted-conversation.

Good luck to you!

You can also visit the data portion of this site and get detailed information about Herrington. I was a little surprised at the crime index (or confused) Its crime index number was a little higher than the average. I would of assumed it to be much lower.

Herrington is also close to Abilene which is a fairly pleasant town- the hometown of President Eisenhower.
