Bresdo, welcome to Island School! If you have any questions or issues, drop me a line. How old are your girls now? My son is 16, a junior at IS, and still thriving there. This year he's taking computer programming courses online, through Stanford, in addition to his other classes (Great Works, H. Physics, Pre-calculus) - this was suggested by the physics teacher, when not enough kids signed up for the 'advanced computer science' class they were going to offer. He's so charged up about the online class, it's great. My niece took a 'bridge year' at KCC here, and this year she's just started at UH Manoa as a CS major.

And welcome to Wailua, too! Homesteads, Houselots, or 'other'?

SanDiegoKauai, I DM'd you my email so we can chat offline. LOVE to talk about Island School, the Kauai bar, etc. It'll be GREAT to have an IP attorney here! I may even have some referrals for you...

Everyone, things are still great here for my family. Mom celebrated her 84th the other day, just after we got back from a little cruise up in Alaska. We rented a scooter for her so she could get through the airports and around the ship. She's got macular degeneration but is responding well to intraocular injections, so that's being held at bay for now. Still breathing well, and on almost no medications now.

Last year, I helped start a new nonprofit, Kauai Robotics Alliance, to help increase awareness and funding of youth robotics programs on Kauai. Our KauaiBots have been fantastic these past few years (well, we had some issues with the robot in 2011, but we're over that now...) We are going to try to build a competition arena right here on Kauai.

Hubby's business is even picking up a little bit, he's getting more repair business. The few instruments he's built have all been sold (well, except for one uke that his friend wants but can't afford... yet...), but he still won't advertise or market in any way. His deal, not mine.

Business is great, I'm still poor mainly because I'm too much of a softie and give away too much of my time. But I'm happy.
